TITLE I

Title I Items
    Habersham Success Acadmey is identified as a Title I school as part of the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA). Title I is designed to support state and local school reform efforts tied to challenging state academic standards to reinforce and enhance efforts to improve teaching and learning for students. Title I programs must be based on effective means of improving student achievement and include strategies to support parental involvement. The parent involvement requirements for schools and districts serving students through Title I consist of:
  • Family Engagement Plan
  • School-Parent Compacts
  • Annual Title I Meeting
  • Continuous Communication
  • Parent Educational Workshops

Title I Reservation of Funds

The HSCC will reserve 1 percent from the total amount of Title I funds it receives in 2023-2024 to carry out the parent and family engagement requirements listed in this policy and as described in federal law. Furthermore, the HCSS will also distribute 90 percent of the amount reserved to Title I schools to support their local family engagement programs and activities. The district will provide clear guidance and communication to assist each Title I school in developing an adequate family engagement budget that addresses their needs assessment and parent recommendations.
